Trauma and Emergency
Adult and pediatric trauma patients are seen by specially-trained physicians, nurses and surgeons at our Level 1 trauma center at the Cedar Crest campus.
The center has added qualifications in pediatric trauma, making it the region’s only trauma center accredited to care for children. It also has the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the most pediatric surgeons.
It is supported by professionals specially-educated to care for geriatric falls, the highest cause of trauma injury in older adults.
The largest and busiest burn center in Pennsylvania is also on the Cedar Crest campus.
Lehigh Valley Hospital—MedEvac and an expanded emergency department enable quick care for traumas, heart attacks and strokes.
Patients needing specialty care, surgery or hospitalization can be transferred with one call to the Transfer Center, staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
